This is my personal corner on the web, where I share thoughts and ideas on
topics I am passionate about: geography, urban planning, cycling, nature,
emergency management, and geographic information systems (GIS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor’s degree in
Geography and a Professional Master’s in Planning. Over the past 35 years,
I have worked across the private, public, and non-profit sectors, specializing
in applied GIS technologies and planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In March 2020, I retired from the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) \u2013 Region IV \u2013 after a decade of service. After retiring, I decided
to put my experience to work for the community. I now contribute to
humanitarian and community initiatives worldwide, supporting the development of open data and GIS tools. I am an active OpenStreetMap contributor and a volunteer with the USGS National Map Corps (TNMCorps), helping improve the geographic data that benefits communities around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
